Privatar Android wallet privacy

Your wallet data.
Your choices.

This policy describes how the Privatar Android wallet handles data. Privatar is a self-custodial Midnight wallet. The current developer and privacy contact is admin@privatar.app.

Wallet data stored on your device

Your recovery phrase, derived keys, encrypted wallet checkpoint, preferences and connected-site credentials are stored within the app on your device. Dedicated Android builds use protected app storage and device authentication. Privatar does not operate an account service that receives your recovery phrase or private keys. Never send them to support.

Midnight network services

The wallet contacts the selected Midnight network's node and indexer services to derive current network state, synchronize public blockchain information, show balances and activity, prepare transactions and learn their status. These providers receive ordinary connection information such as your IP address and the public blockchain queries needed to answer the request. Mainnet may use an application-configured infrastructure provider. Blockchain transactions and public addresses are ledger data that Privatar cannot delete.

On-device proving material

Public proving material is bundled with the app. The default proof workflow runs on the device. A separately configured developer build may use a private proof service and clearly discloses that mode before approval; normal store builds do not enable that developer option.

Camera

Camera access is requested only when you choose to scan a site's connection QR code. Privatar processes the QR scan for pairing and does not record video or upload camera images.

Connected sites and relay delivery

When you connect a site, the app stores the site identity, the permissions you approved and encrypted session information on your device. A relay service may carry encrypted pairing and request messages and process technical delivery data. Site icons can be requested from an allowlisted origin. Privatar shows supported signature, proof and transaction requests for separate review; a connection alone does not authorize spending.

Support

The in-app contact link opens your email application. If you send a message, your mail provider and the Privatar mailbox process the email address, message and attachments you choose to include so we can reply. Do not include recovery words, private keys, passwords or wallet backups.

Retention and deletion

Wallet and connection records remain on your device until you reset the wallet, clear the app's data or uninstall it. Reset removes the wallet's protected local record and connection state from the app. Messages sent to support are retained only as needed to respond, resolve security or support issues, and meet legal obligations; you may request deletion by email. Public blockchain records cannot be altered or deleted by Privatar.

Your choices

You can deny camera access, revoke a connected site, reset the wallet, clear app data, uninstall the app, or contact us about support information. Some features will be unavailable when the related permission or network access is disabled.

Security and changes

Privatar uses encrypted transport for connected-site messages and protected storage for dedicated native wallet records. No system can guarantee absolute security. Material policy changes will be reflected on this page and in a future app update when they affect the wallet.
